We spent last weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. My home town. We drove down on Saturday, but spent the day at the Cincinnati Zoo and botanical garden. That is the best zoo that I have ever visited. It's just so pretty! Sadly I left my camera in the car so I didn't get any shots.
On Sunday we got up early and spent a full day in Louisville. We started out at Waterfront park.
We walked by the river,
Played at the playground for a bit,
Had lunch at Tumbleweed,
And splashed in the fountains.
Later we went swimming with cousins, had dinner at Clifton's pizza and went bowling with more cousins. Tommy just can't seem to get enough bowling these days. Katie got two strikes and one spare, but mama still won!
I do love to take the kids to Kentucky. I get to relive some of my memories and they get to create their own new ones in the very same places. It doesn't matter where life takes you. Home is always the same. The places where you grew up and learned and laughed and cried. It is always with you. I am just so glad that they will always have a little bit of the place that I hold so dearly in my heart in their hearts too.
