I have been feeling quiet lately. With all of the holiday clatter going on around it seems to be all that I can do. Charlie is cutting some serious teeth and has been sick to boot. The kids are wild with excitement and from being cooped up inside and my computer(and Tommy) has been having some power issues. I just can't win. So I am trying to remain calm. And Quiet. Here are some scenes of late. Maybe I will revisit and elaborate in the near future.
We went to one of my favorite festivals over the weekend, the apple butter stirrin' festival! It's so quaint and simple. The food is homemade and delicious. Mmm...chicken and noodles, ice cream, doughnuts, kettle corn. The music is lovely....bluegrass and dulcimer. The crafts are old fashioned and fun. And the kids seem to learn lots. They got to help make a broom and hammer tin. They got to eat dutch oven blueberry cake and play with animal furs. They stirred the apple butter and painted pumpkins. They even went to school for a spell. They had lessons and ended with a spelling bee! I am already looking forward to net year!
